"The World Wrestling Resource has paid dividends....

Dylan Koontz is the 2010 National Greco Champion (Novice 60).
Dylan's twin brother, Brady, was happy (but not satisfied) the next day when he
finished 3rd in freestyle." ~ Brian Koontz WWR Member since 8-9-2009

posted Tue July 6th @ 1:37 AM

In Part II, Coach Tom Brands continues to answer more of one WWR Member's questions on Training 3x & 4x a day.  Bonus questions included. I know that "peaking" is both an art and a science and it varies for just about everybody, but how do you find that balance of training/recovery? Also, for certain styles, what are your thoughts on what the ratio should be with regards to the technical training and strength and conditioning? What worked best for you as athletes and what do you find works best for you as coaches? More »

contains video content On Training 3x & 4x a day ~ Coach Tom Brands (WWRAdmin)
posted Tue July 6th @ 1:35 AM

Coach Tom Brands answers one WWR Member's Questions on Training 3x & 4x/day. How did you manage it as an athlete and how do you manage that kind of training as a coach? How did you manage the intensity of each workout throughout the day? Was each workout carefully planned or did you train by feel? How did/do you mange which practices will have more live wrestling, which ones will be more technical and which ones will have both? Anything specific you do with your athletes to keep them from pacing themselves? (You know, maybe cutting some corners or not pushing as hard so they won't be as sore/beat up for the next training session.) More »

I'm trying to find a Math or Science teacher that would like to help coach. Our school is a big school in Alabama, just south of Birmingham. We have only had a Varsity program for 3 years. We placed fourth in State last year. I need some help so we can continue to grow the Program. If you are interested please email me at sweltzin@gmail.com Read More »
